E Turns Two!

I'm a little late on this post, seeing as E's birthday was over a week ago, but better late than never! Right?
E loves his "pa-kee"!
E turned two! We celebrated with C's family on Saturday, my family on Sunday, and had E all to ourselves on his actual birthday.

We didn't do anything too special for this birthday. It was fun to meet up with the Nelson fam for pizza and cake. E got a Hot Wheels race car and new movies from Grandma and Grandpa (Toy Story and Cars), a little bowling set and a toy car from Uncle M, and another 2 new movies from Uncle T (Up and A Bug's Life). E was a happy kid! Now the first thing he does in the morning is beg to watch "Ah-dee" (Woody). It's adorable! And E did an excellent job blowing out candles this year. No tears this time!

The next day we drove down to my family's for a combined birthday party. Two of my brothers have birthdays within a few days of each other, and E's is just a few days after that, so we decided to consolidate and celebrate everyone at once. We ate delicious soups and enjoyed spending time together. Grammy and Grampy gave E a beautiful new puzzle! It has farm animals on it and E absolutely loves it. My goal is to eventually build up a good puzzle collection, because E really likes playing with them and learns a lot. Once again he was a champ at blowing out candles!
Thanks for the puzzle, Grammy and Grampy!

On E's birthday we tried to make it extra-special but still low-key. E opened his presents as soon as he woke up. Daddy gave him 2 new books. One is a counting book where you poke the little dots to count and they pop. E loves it! Mommy gave E a "planes, trains, and automobiles" puzzle. We had delicious French toast for breakfast, and E was fascinated with dipping them in his little cup of syrup. Later that morning we went to the aquarium! E impressed me by behaving SO well the whole time! We never needed to use his stroller (we still brought it just in case) and he stayed by me and C the whole time. E loved looking at the fish and sharks and is still asking to go see them again.

Looking at his new book with beloved Woody...and his gun.
Fish!
They're best friends.

That's really all we did on E's actual birthday. C took the whole day off work and it was just a nice, relaxing day.
The only half-decent picture of me and E together on his birthday...
